Crystal is clear, sharp, and it shows a multitude of rainbows on the wall. Why do people use it on their chandeliers, etc. It is like faith, very sharp, very clear, but if it should ever drop and shatter, its value is naught. Crystal can symbolize the multiple talents God gives. Yet, it is His light and love that shines through these talents that gives credence to them. Do not mistake the substance for the physical features.

The Presentation of Christ in the Temple reminds us that without vision man will perish and disintegrate. And vision derives from wisdom, and wisdom from reflection.

Prayer that does not produce virtuous action is an illusion. We can all help to renew all things in Christ, to bring peace upon the earth, through a life of charity, through a life of prayer.

We can begin to reverence the individuality in others, to see the good that is there, to be considerate of them, to understand and to love them. To sit back, inactive, silent, is not only to settle for mediocrity, missing happiness ourselves, but to be responsible for evil taking over in the world about us.
